PROJECT ART 2014 POP-UP GALLERY BENEFIT
This year Project Gallery will be curating the Project Art 2014: “Pop-Up” Art Gallery Benefit at 99 Sudbury on Thursday October 9th, starting at 7:30pm. Last year the benefit raised $90,000 for the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital, allowing them to hire a full-time art therapist. This year we’ll be display about 100 artworks by 25 up-and-coming contemporary artists from Toronto. The event will also feature a live-spin painting by Callen Schaub, learn more and get tickets at www.project-art.org
ART ACTIVATION AT TWILIGHT TUESDAYS NIGHT MARKET
Join us every Tuesday of August from 5-9pm outside of the new Drake 150 for a Night Market presented by Momofuku and the Drake. Project Gallery, in collaboration with Grolsch, will be presenting the second instalment of the Faces of TO activation initiated at the Arts & Crafts Field Trip Festival at Fort York earlier this year, that will culminate in a final activation during TIFF in September. We will be creating unique art portraits for free for visitors during the night market, so make sure to come on by!

The Art Battle Event in Toronto is presented by Project Gallery, and hosted by Kryart Studio.
TORONTO – March 28th, 2014 – Art Battle Canada (http://artbattle.ca) is announcing ART BATTLE DAY on May 10th 2014. More than 250 artists will compete in same-day events across 20 Canadian communities for the chance to advance to the 2014 Art Battle National Championship.

Art Battle is live painting competition. Painters create the best work they can across three rounds of public painting. The audience vote for the winners of each round, and the single winner of each event.
Winners of Art Battle Day events will advance to compete in regional championships and will be a part of a yearly nationwide tournament that includes winners from 65 Art Battle Canada regular season events held monthly in 12 cities across Canada from September to June.
In July, winners of each Art Battle regional final will compete at the 2014 Art Battle National Championship. Two-time Champion Yared Nigussu of Vancouver BC will defend his title against the best painters from across Canada. One painter will be chosen by audience vote as the 2014 Art Battle National Champion.

We are proud to announce that on Sunday October 20th we will be participating in, and have organized, the first ever Leslieville Gallery Crawl! Visiting 7 galleries in the area, we will be showcasing the diversity of art in this east end neighborhood, and celebrating the new developments in the arts milieu of Queen East, including the recent opening of both Project Gallery and MJG Gallery. Enjoy an autumn stroll around the neighborhood, and check out the current offerings of Leslieville’s galleries.

2) MJG Gallery – 1028 Queen Street East
MJG Gallery is an artist-owned and operated space since August 2011. Carrying work from primarily Toronto-vicinity artists as well as tribal art from Africa and the Pacific, owner Mark Gleberzon hosts various group and themed shows, exhibitions and special events. The gallery always maintains an on-going and rotating inventory of some 150 original works of art from over thirty artists working in various media.
3) Ben Navaee Gallery - 1107 Queen Street East
This gallery is run by the multi-disciplinary artist Ben Navaee, who specializes in Ārām art, a style that originates from the Sanskrit term, meaning quiet, calm, and taking rest. The gallery’s philosophy is deeply rooted in an awareness of social justice and the human potential, while offering the community affordable contemporary art pieces and framing, alongside a large selection of workshops.
4) Project Gallery – 1109 Queen Street East
This contemporary art gallery and collective is dedicated to promoting, collaborating, and supporting artistic talent through exhibitions, creative projects, and special events. Exhibitions feature works by emerging, established and local artists. The gallery offers art consulting, artist development, curatorial services, art rentals, commissioned artworks, and special events rentals.
5) Parts Gallery - 1150 Queen Street East
This contemporary art gallery represents a large selection of both emerging and mid career artists, in a variety of fine art mediums. This gallery also offers custom framing, art consulting services, and a gift registry for investment in the arts.
6) Pentimento Gallery – 1164 Queen Street East
This gallery offers art in a wide variety of media, showcasing contemporary Canadian artists at all stages of their careers. The gallery offers consultations, private viewings, commissions, and installation.
7) Heliographics Studio and Gallery – 1238H Queen Street East
This gallery doubles as a studio, and specializes in photography and graphic art. The studio offers fine art printing, custom matting, and graphic design services.
